Is FinePrint legal advice?

No. FinePrint provides informational summaries only. It is not legal advice and does not create an attorney-client relationship. For decisions with material legal or financial consequences, review the original document and consult a qualified attorney.

What document types does FinePrint support?

FinePrint is built for the agreements people actually sign:

  • Apartment leases
  • HOA and condo rules
  • Employment agreements
  • Offer letters
  • Insurance policies (renter's, homeowner's, auto, health, umbrella)
  • Service contracts
  • Gym memberships
  • Auto leases and financing
  • Student housing agreements

It adapts what it looks for based on the document type, so the findings match the kind of fine print that matters for that agreement.

What platforms does FinePrint run on?

FinePrint runs on iPhone, iPad, Android (phone & tablet), and Mac. One app, every device, sidebar navigation and a split-view document detail on iPad, native window sizing and menu-bar shortcuts on Mac, Material Design layout on Android, and a calm one-screen experience on iPhone.

Is my contract data private?

Your document stays on your device until you tap Continue. When analysis runs, your document is sent to FinePrint's analysis pipeline on AWS in us-east-1, processed without being used for AI training, and stored for 365 days unless you delete it sooner.

You can delete your account and every document at any time from Profile → Danger zone → Delete account and data. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Does FinePrint work on Android?

Yes. FinePrint is available on Android phones and tablets via the Google Play Store. The Android version has full feature parity with iPhone and iPad, the same upload flow, the same plain-language findings, the same source-page citations.

Can I share a finding with my lawyer?

Yes. Every finding has a Share menu with two depth options, a concise summary or the summary plus the verbatim source quote. The whole document can be exported as a PDF summary as well.

Shared content never includes your document title or any personal information you may have typed, it uses generic language like "your lease" or "your policy" instead.

How long does an analysis take?

Most documents finish in 2–3 minutes. Long agreements (over 50 pages) take a few minutes longer because FinePrint reads them in chunks. The processing screen shows you which stage it's in, and you can leave and come back at any time without losing progress.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. Inside the app, tap Profile → Danger zone → Delete account and data. This permanently removes your account, every PDF you uploaded, every finding, every reminder, and your usage history.

See the Delete account page for full detail on what is removed and what is retained for legal/tax purposes.

Do I need to sign in to try FinePrint?

No. FinePrint opens in guest mode by default, you can upload your first document without creating an account. Sign in with Apple later if you want your documents to sync across devices, or stay a guest for as long as you'd like.

What does it mean when FinePrint says a finding is "Critical" or "Important"?

FinePrint sorts findings into four calm priority tiers, Critical, Important, Worth Reviewing, and Informational. The tier reflects the behavioral expectation (read this first vs. read when you have time), not a legal-severity judgment. The geometry, a leading accent bar and a small priority dot, does the visual work without alarmist chrome.

Can FinePrint set reminders for deadlines it finds?

Yes. When FinePrint finds a confident date in your document, a notice-to-vacate deadline, a renewal window, a claim-filing deadline, it offers to set a calm local reminder with a lead time that adapts to how far out the date is. You can also create reminders manually from any finding.

Reminders are local notifications on your device. FinePrint never sends push notifications.
